Snackshots | Disneyland Paris’ Last Chance Café Review

Back in September, I took my mum to Disneyland Paris for the first time. She’s not the most mobile right now, so we focused on just exploring the park and doing what we could. She’s also not eating a huge amount, so it was a good opportunity to try one of the many quick service places in the Disneyland Park for a light snack.

We happened to be in Frontierland at lunch time, and I’ve never actually eaten in any of the Thunder Mesa restaurants, so we stopped in Last Chance Café.

Take a look at my Quick Stats for the cliff notes or check out the full Snackshots review!

As you roll into Frontierland from the main park plaza, you find yourself in the troubled Western town of Thunder Mesa – home to Phantom Manor, Big Thunder Mountain and a whole host of shops and restaurants. Just past the Lucky Nugget Saloon on your way to the Phantom Manor sits the Last Chance Café, a small, quick service restaurant that’s the ‘perfect place for the lawless to grab a hasty bite before continuing their quest.’

Haste being the operative word here with the relatively small seating area, counter service and use of the Disneyland Paris App’s Click and Collect service. The focus here is clearly on grab and go, though it’s not a bad spot to sit if you can claim one of the tables at the outpost.

Theming in the seating area is simple enough but fits well into Frontierland with some fun accents around the ceiling beams. Plus, if you get the right table and you get a fun view of Big Thunder and the River Boats.

In the ordering area, the walls are lined with black and white photographs and plenty of wanted posters, with chunky wooden fencing splitting the queue lines, really leaning into the outpost vibes.

So, it’s kind of a shame that when I went, there was nothing really ‘Thunder Mesa’ about this outpost’s menu, except for the Turkey Leg – I don’t know about you, but I can certainly see a rough ‘n’ tough cowboy chowing down on a massive leg of meat after a long day’s ranching. Or something like that anyway.

Since my visit in September 2026, the menu has been changed which makes this Snackshot somewhat moot, but we’re gonna do it anyway! The current menu (Oct 26) now includes a Thunder Mesa Haunted Meal (chicken tenders, black garlic sauce & sweet potato fries) and a Phantom Manor themed doughnut. It’s nice to see something a little more themed here now and I hope this is more than just a temporary Halloween update.

Visiting Last Chance gave me the perfect opportunity to try using Disneyland Paris’ Click n Collect service, and it worked really well. I like the fact that you can place an order from anywhere in the park (granted, I did it from my table at the Café), rock up to the restaurant, tell the app that you’re here and a few minutes later, your food appears. It’s a shame it’s not available in more places, but it works well here.

As for my meal, it was nothing flashy, but it did the job. A portion of chicken bites and their steak fries, with an orange juice and a Fuze Tea came to €21.30 which isn’t bad for a shared snack. Even without the second drink it’s a little pricey for a solo meal, but we are in a theme park after all.

A hearty, beige snack. Nice that the sauces were given automatically.

The portion size for the chicken bites redeems the price a little bit as you get around 12 pieces – I’ll be honest, I only started counting after eating a couple, so that’s an approximate number! I would expect they’re pretty good if you manage to get a fresh batch, but the ones we had were a mixed bag. The coating had a nice crunch, but some of the thinner pieces of meat had started to dry out a bit. But overall, pretty good – it’s nice that these were more than just a basic nugget of unidentifiable meat.

The chips were pretty chunky, fluffy enough and pre-salted. They tasted fine but could have been a bit fresher and warmer. This is definitely the kind of place that would benefit from being busy – in the same way that I’ve been told that Italian motorway service stations have some of the best coffee because it’s constantly being turned over.

I really appreciate the use of reusable containers for the drinks and chicken bites here and I’m curious to see if this extends across the park. Plus the fact that the outpost’s staff were so efficient at helping to clear customer’s trays and tables, this outpost was one of the cleanest in the West.

Overall, not a bad place to grab a quick snack, and the new menu items have me intrigued. Without the menu change, I don’t think I’d be in a rush to return, but I’m happy to give this café another chance.

Thanks for reading this Last Chance Café Review, have you been to this outpost? If you have, why not drop a comment with your experience?
